Day 90: Arriving to Whistler, British Columbia
My muscles were still so tight that I could barely move. I went to the Scandinave spa, which had tons of hot tubs nestled in the mountains!

Day 91: E-Bike Vs. Pedestrian and a Musician
I was on a e-bike tour when a woman froze right in front of me. I slammed on the breaks & just barely hit her as she grabbed the handle bars. I met a musician from Tinder and had a nice time meeting up with him.

Day 92: Peak to Peak Gondola
I took the Peak to Peak gondola up to the top of the mountain and then across on the world’s longest continuous lift. The views were awesome. Then I met up with the musician that I met earlier on Tinder.

Days 93-94: Ziplining Away
I zip-lined through the trees on Whistler mountain. The lines were long and fast! It was great weather, but they even do it in the winter. It was a great way to end my time in Whistler.

Day 95: Train Wreck and Suspension Bridge
The train wreck trail is a unique experience with damaged train cars with spray paint all over them. It’s fun to explore. I also checked out the suspension bridge in Vancouver, which had tree houses and bridges to explore too.

Getting Settled in Whistler, Canada
I would be living in Whistler, Canada for at least a month. I rented an Airbnb, bought groceries, and settled in. I also met a neighbor.

A Week in Whistler, Canada
I saw a bear on a hike and the weather was great! I explored my favorite fancy hotel and enjoyed the highlife. I also went on a nighttime club crawl. Some lovely girls from a bachelorette party accepted me into their group.

Game Night and Beer Tour
If was the dead season in Whistler, so I joined the game night at the library. I also went on a beer tour, which was fun! These were great ways to meet new people and make Whistler feel like a home.

Dating in Whistler
I met a few guys from Tinder while I was staying in Whistler for six weeks. Each guy made me feel like asking for dinner was too much. I think being taken on an actual date isn’t having too high of expectations.

Throughout her wild 3-week journey backpacking 220+ miles in the California Sierra Mountains, Christy encountered freezing temperatures, pelting hail storms, and losing her way, but found trail family, incredible views, and experiences that would change her life forever. Hiking up and over ten different mountain passes gave Christy a lot of time to think about why her nine-year marriage was falling apart, gave her the chance to truly embody her individualism, time to make new friends, and the strength she would need on and off the trail. Her life could never again be the same.
This is one woman’s account of the three weeks she spent on the iconic trail.
